Custom Camera Controls for Photo Studio

Proex Photo Systems, now part of Ritz Camera, purchased a number of Model 20 gimbals with stepping motors and custom camera controls. The systems positioned 35mm auto-focus cameras for their in-store photo studios.

Using the standard Model 20 electronics for camera zoom and focus, Sagebrush designed and built a zoom actuator for the camera lens, and a camera mount that included a portrait/landscape orientation that was driven by the focus control in the gimbal electronics. The design allows the photographer to position and orient the camera, and operate the camera’s zoom lens using a wireless remote control.
