OEM Design and Manufacturing

Siemens Medical Solutions recently obtained the rights to the Mammotest® prone biopsy table developed by Fischer Imaging. The Mammotest® product line uses Roto-Lok® technology for precise positioning of the biopsy needle. The product requirements included low manufacturing costs, maintenance-free operation, high positional accuracy and minimal deflection under load in a small, lightweight package.

Sagebrush Technology designed a mechanical system that combined the torsional stiffness and zero backlash of the Roto-Lok® rotary drive with a precision worm gear set that would meet the accuracy and deflection requirements while providing years of maintenance free operation.

Having supplied the mechanical drive for the Autoguide needle positioner since 1998, Sagebrush Technology began providing turnkey manufacturing of the entire Autoguide in 2002. In addition, Sagebrush provides Siemens Medical Solutions with warranty and non-warranty repair services and design support for product improvements. As part of the manufacturing process, Sagebrush Technology has incorporated into its quality system the product testing and tracking requirements that support Siemens' FDA compliance program.
