Selection Guide

Selecting and Configuring a Gimbal

Over the past 15 years we have found that many of our customers are able to use one of our standard gimbals for their projects. If it is possible to use a standard gimbal, you are going to save both time and money. Where a unique application requires a modification to a standard product or a custom gimbal, complete and accurate information on the project requirements is essential to allow Sagebrush Technology to determine the scope and cost of the project. If at any point you have a question that is not answered here, please contact us

This Selection Guide is meant to help you identify all of the operational and performance criteria that apply to your application, and to understand how the application, payload, and performance requirements affect the selection of the appropriate gimbal. The information in the Gimbal Selection Guide is intended to supplement the product data sheets, drawings, and frequently asked questions documents that describe each product.

The selection process begins by identifying the full range of customer requirements and then comparing those requirements to the specifications of the standard gimbal products. The Specifications Form is used to summarize the customer’s payload, application, and performance requirements. With this information, Sagebrush Technology can usually determine which gimbal or gimbals are best suited to the customer’s requirements.

We also know a standard Sagebrush unit is not exactly right for every application. The Specifications Form information will be instrumental in determining what modifications we might make to one of our standard products to develop a cost effective solution that fits your application. Many of the standard gimbal products have grown over time to include options that have been developed for specific customer requirements. Using this wide range of options we can turn a standard product into a semi-custom unit.

If, upon review by our technical staff, it becomes evident that a fully custom gimbal is required, we get the engineering team involved in discussing a design that addresses your unique needs and budget. New and innovative challenges arrive on a regular basis, and responding to those challenges is one of our strengths.
